Mughali Indian food par excellence !!!! "The way to a person's heart is through the stomach" Lazzat restaurant is an Indian restaurant serving both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Mughlai food, with Chinese food recently introduced. It is a good place for a family meal or a business meeting. We visited the restaurant as a couple, to review the food and restaurant as a whole, at lunch-time. Situated in a quiet area of Karama - Dubai, the restaurant has very good exteriors and interiors... one can dine either inside the comfortably cool restaurant or, in good weather, in the open area outside the restaurant which is equipped with patio table umbrellas to give it an exquisite look as well as shade. We ordered a variety of dishes and I can confidently say, without exaggeration, that all of them were excellent! We started with some soft-drinks....Lemon and mint mojito and the Blue Lagoon, both of which were very refreshing and loaded with crushed ice, exactly what we wanted that hot summer afternoon! The crispy masala roomali, which is a speciality of Lazzat, topped with onion, tomatoes, boondi and sev, garnished with corriander leaves was something we had never eaten before... it was a tasty novelty for us. As a starter, the mixed grill kabab platter was something I looked forward to and Lazzat did not let me down... in fact, it was far beyond my expectations! It consisted of various types of kababs which included sheekh, chicken tikka, chicken malai, tangdi and chaapli kababs. They were sumptuous to the core! I could make this starter my main course at my next visit! I recomment that this is a must have, if you visit Lazzat. For the main course, we ordered Tawa Chicken with rumali rotis, which was a treat. It seemed like this tasty combination was made for each other. We also had their Dal bukhara, which was super yummy... reminded me of Punjab! It went so well with the soft rumali rotis. We also ordered a portion of Chinese vegetable noodles, to sample the newly introduced Chinese food. They were good, but nothing to beat their Mughlai! And as a finale to their main course, we had their Chicken biryani with raita as an accompaniment. It was so full of flavour; the basmati rice had a delicious aroma, altogether, with the chicken and tasty masala! No meal ends without a sweet ending... so we tried their phirni. It was rich and creamy and topped with crunchy slivers of almonds and cashewnuts. A perfect way to the end the meal! All in all, we enjoyed the meal thoroughly! Our recommendation would be to start a branch in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah too, so that they could capture more hearts through stomachs!! Lazzat has a very nice ambience, and the staff were very friendly and obliging. It wasn't difficult to get a paid-parking at lunch time on a weekday, although I'm not aware about the situation at the weekend. In that case, takeaway and home delivery seem like a plausible solution, as Lazzat offers this facility. Nothing should defer you from availing of such irresistible fare! I believe that Lazzat's food is very good value for money, as they offer you food that goes much beyond your expectation!
