MUMBAI MENU LAUNCH | ASHA'S RESTAURANT | WAFI MALL, DUBAI

‘Delicious food brings back nostalgic memories’ – and, rightly so, the Mumbai menu took us back in time to good ol’ Mumbai, earlier known as Bombay! Asha’s restaurant made the Mumbai menu even more special by extending their oh-so-warm hospitality, for which they are very well-known, having been established for over 17 years at Wafi Mall, Dubai!

The Mumbai menu was introduced in June 2019, after the tremendous success of the Delhi to Punjab menu from March through May 2019.

Here is what we tasted from the Mumbai menu:

1. Vada pav slider: This is a fusion of the traditional Mumbai vada pav and modern slider… A delicious and filling potato fritter in a bun with yogurt, green, tamarind and garlic chutneys!

2. Koliwada prawn: Another typical Mumbai dish, this starter is still an all-time favorite. The coating was tasty and the prawns deep fried to perfection. The accompanying mango salsa was delicious.

3. Machli Tawa Masala Fry: This masalafied fried fish was spicy and tasty and just melted in the mouth.

4. Kombdi vade: The chicken curry was served with puri-like vades. They were a good accompaniment to the curry.

5. Salli Boti: The mutton on the bone was tender and came off the bone easily when cut. It was garnished with thin French fries which added a crunch to the dish. It was served with a bun.

6. Mumbai Juhu Vegetable Biryani: The veg biryani was nice and spicy. It also contained paneer cubes.

7. Mumbai Juhu Prawn Biryani: This was a tasty biryani and the prawns were delicious too.

8. Chicken Berry Biryani: The berries in this biryani made it berry berry tasty! The chicken was tender and the rice grains were a perfect al dente.

9. Maska Bun & Chai: This marked the end to the Mumbai meal – the buns were loaded with butter (maska) and served with hot and tasty chai.

We also tasted the following beverages:

Truly berry and Mango Caramel lassi – served chilled and so refreshing!

The staff is helpful and obliging.

The grand ambience makes you feel like a celebrity. As there are so many pictures of Asha Bhosle at the restaurant and with her songs playing in the background, one can feel her presence at the restaurant!

Free valet parking is available at the mall.
