ONCE UPON A BITE | KARAMA, DUBAI

"When at 'Once upon a bite', I reminisce eating these yummy bites for years, back home" Once upon a bite is a restaurant located in Karama, Dubai. It serves mainly Indian food along with other cuisines as well. It is good for a family gathering. It is easy to locate as it is close to Karama Post Office. We visited as a group of friends for dinner on a weekday. The following is a review of what we tasted: VEG 1. Gobhi parantha with herb butter and spiced yogurt - Full on desi parantha cooked to perfection. Felt like I was dining at a roadside dhabba. 2. Soya wrap served with mint chutney - Juicy wrap with the goodness of veggies. 3. Chili Paneer - Desi chinese at its best. The paneer was so soft and the gravy was thick and spicy. 4. Hakka Noodles - Very yummy. Not too oily. Goes well with the Chili Paneer 5. Veg Bread Pizza - Crispy toast topped with cheese and veggies. Maa ki yaad dila di. NON VEG 1. Chicken bread pizza: The bread was crispy to perfection and the yummy filling was wholesome. 2.Chicken keema parantha with herb butter and spiced yogurt: This brought back childhood memories - a tasty parantha which went well with the creamy yoghurt. 3.Chicken noodles roll served with mint chutney: This amazing roll satisfied my taste buds! A must try! 4.Hunan chicken: It was a perfectly balanced dish with all the flavors you would desire in a Chinese chicken dish. It was pleasantly different from the Hunan chicken that I have tasted at other restaurants. 5.Punjabi chili sausage: This is a fusion dish of the much-loved chicken sausage in the UAE with Punjabi chaat spices. DESSERTS * Brownie Choco Bliss - Super rich brownie bites topped with Chocolate Mousse Royal icecream, KitKat chunks and a generous drizzle of chocolate sauce. It’s a must have dessert * Caramel delight - Peanut butter stack with Pralines and Cream icecream, roasted almonds and caramel sauce. Really yummy and worth a try for all those with a sweet tooth. BEVERAGES * Masala Cola - This took us back to our school days! * Shaadi wali coffee - The perfect winter coffee. The ambience is really funky with bold interiors. The are a semi self service restaurant which reminds of our childhood days where we would order at the canteen counter and wait for the food to be served to us. Their service is really good. Friendly staff. Ample of parking available around the restaurant. Perfect place to hangout with a group of friends or family for a CHATTER OVER PLATTER !
